Do you qualify to drive or deliver with Uber? These are the documents you need to share to get started.

1. Ontario Driver's Licence

Requirements

  • 21+ years old
  • Ontario G Driver’s Licence or equivalent
  • Must be Ontario issued to operate in the City of Toronto

A driver's licence is required to drive with Uber. It is also required to deliver (car, not bike) with UberEATS.

2. Proof of work eligibility

Requirements

Proof of work options include any of the following:

  • Passport
  • Residency card
  • Birth certificate
  • Citizenship card
  • Work permit

3. Vehicle insurance

Requirements

  • Insurance must be in your name
  • Name must be legible

Vehicle insurance is required to drive with Uber. It is also required to deliver (car, not bike) with UberEATS.

4. Vehicle registration

Vehicle registration is required to drive with Uber. It is also required to deliver (car, not bike) with UberEATS.

5. Police Records Check with Vulnerable Sector form

Front

  • You must complete and pass a Police Records Check with the Vulnerable Sector form. The results will be in the form of a two-sided document. Please upload both sides separately.
  • Your name must be visible on the front of the document

Back

  • You must complete and pass a Police Records Check with the Vulnerable Sector form. The results will be in the form of a two-sided document. Please upload both sides separately.
  • The back of the document must have the correct box checked
  • The back must include the Police Officer's signature, license number and the seal must be visible

6. Vehicle Inspection: Safety Standards Certificate (SSC)

Requirements

  • All vehicles must pass a safety inspection and receive a Safety Standards Certificate (SSC)
  • Visit any vehicle inspection licensed by the Ministry of Transportation Ontario (MTO)
  • As of October 1, 2018, if your vehicle model is 5 years (2014 model year) or newer, it will require an inspection once per year
  • As of October 1, 2018, if your vehicle model is older than 5 years (2013 or older), it will require an inspection twice per year (every 6 months)

SSC not required if delivering with Uber Eats.
