Which car is right for you? Make sure it meets the vehicle requirements in Helsinki, and remember that you’ll make more money if you keep your costs low.

Your vehicle must-haves

  • 4 doors and 4 passenger seats
  • Good condition with no cosmetic damage
  • Working windows and air conditioning
  • No full-sized vans or trucks
  • No salvaged or rebuilt vehicles
  • Vehicle is registered for professional use

Your paperwork

You can register your vehicle for professional use when changing the owner or person in posession of the vehicle. In case you are buying a new vehicle, you can do it at that point as well.

UberX

Most newer cars qualify to drive with UberX, the most popular vehicle option for riders.

Additional requirements

  • 4-door vehicle in good condition

Offer sustainable rides with 100% electric vehicles.

  • Fully electric vehicle (hybrids and plug-in hybrids not accepted)

Uber Van is a service provided for large groups of passengers.

Requirements

  • 6 additional places to the driver
  • Rear passenger doors must have a window
  • Your vehicle must be present in the list above

Comfort

An elevated economy ride option that charges higher fares for newer vehicles with more legroom than on UberX.

Driver requirements

  • A cancellation rate maximum of 15%
  • A minimum rating of 4.8

Vehicle requirements

  • Drive an eligible vehicle for a maximum 8 years after registration date (7 full years), or 10 years after registration date for fully electric vehicles (9 full years)
  • 4-door vehicle in good condition
  • Seats at least 4 passengers in addition to the driver

UberBlack

Charge higher fares in our premium ride option. To access Uber Black, you need to drive with an eligible vehicle, and meet additional requirements, see below.

  • A cancellation rate maximum of 15%
  • A minimum rating of 4.8

Vehicle requirements

  • Drive an eligible vehicle for a maximum 7 years after registration date (6 full years), or 9 years after registration date for fully electric vehicles (8 full years)
  • Seat at least 4 passengers in addition to the driver
