Whether you’re heading to work or meeting a friend, you should never have to worry about the risks often associated with commuting around your city. Women in particular are often more vulnerable to these risks, which is why we’ve been working with third-party providers over the last 3 months to help identify areas that have been verified as less safe in your city.

We’re committed to helping as many women as possible move around with more confidence, and are excited to announce that we’ll be offering 50,000 discounted rides to women who commute to/from less safe areas in Durban. From 10 October 2022 – 30 November 2022, women across Durban can enjoy 50% off of the cost of 10 rides (up to R40 per trip) to/from less safe areas in their city. *T&Cs apply.

In addition to the 50,000 rides, we will be offering 1 additional discounted ride for every 10th trip taken in Durban between 15 October 2022 – 15 November 2022, to help even more women commute safely.** The more you ride, the more discounted rides we will help provide!

*T&Cs: Offer applies to the first 50,000 users of the Uber App. Offer of a maximum of R40 (Forty Rand) off of the cost of a trip up to a maximum of 10 (ten) trips. Offer valid for all users of the Uber App. Offer valid from 10 October 2022 – 30 November 2022. If the cost of the trip is less than the discount, the remaining amount cannot be rolled over. User remains obligated to pay all other costs associated with the trip, including surcharges, tolls and tips. Offer cannot be transferred, duplicated or sold and is not redeemable for cash. This offer is valid only on UberX, UberXL, Uber Go and Uber Comfort.; (ii) the Offer is only for trips to/from particular areas , specified by Uber; and (iii) the Offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer. Where a user is entitled to multiple offers, the offer with the highest savings will be automatically applied. Uber in its sole discretion reserves the right to amend or to withdraw the Offer, in whole or in part, at any time and without prior notice; this may include Uber withdrawing the offer from a user who fails to redeem such offer, either at all or in full, and apply the offerto a different user’s account.
