What to expect with Uber Commute

Uber Commute smartly matches drivers with commuters traveling in the same direction to and from work, through technology. Understanding the regulations in Singapore has allowed us to refine our product offering to ensure Uber Commute is compliant with current laws.  

For Riders

Riders now have an alternative option to request a convenient, affordable and congestion-friendly option with Uber Commute. Riders can expect rides to be up to 51% cheaper than uberX, and they can schedule their rides up to one week in advance, or request a ride within the hour.

How It Works

  1. Open the Uber Rider app, tap the ≡ menu icon and select Commute.
  2. Input “Home” and “Work” address.
  3. Select preferred timing and date of pick-up.
  4. Plan your Commute trips up to a week in advance or request a ride within an hour.
  5. The app will notify you when you are matched with a driver traveling in the same direction.

From 15 March to 30 March, riders can enjoy a 30% off their Uber Commute rides. Rides will be automatically discounted. For more information on the product, visit this link.

For Drivers

Uber Commute is designed for people who already are driving themselves to and from work, and are open to sharing their daily commute with fellow individuals traveling in the same direction. Uber Commute provides drivers a viable option to share their daily commute to recoup the cost, like petrol and parking, of their trip.

How It Works

  1. Open the Uber Rider app, tap the ≡ menu icon and select Commute.  
  2. Save your commuting schedule and review ride requests from nearby commuters. Choose the ones that work best with your schedule.
  3. Plan your Commute trips up to a week in advance. Or check in an hour before you leave.
  4. The app will notify you when you are scheduled to pick up your fellow rider.
