With Uber Reserve, ou’ll have the option to plan ahead and take trips scheduled up to 7 days in advance in the Opportunities section of the Driver app. We’re here to answer all of your questions about Reserve trips.

• What products is Reserve available on?

  Reserve has been available on UberX, XL, and Comfort since late-June in Sydney, Adelaide and Auckland. Reserve has launched on Premier in Sydney and Adelaide in late-October. Reserve will be available in new cities soon.

• How do fares with Reserve trips work?
  

  Before a rider reserves a trip, they agree to pay a particular fare, which is calculated using the expected time and distance. You will be able to see this fare (less Uber’s service fee) before you commit to taking the trip. 

  In rare instances, the fare may be adjusted to reflect the actual time and distance of a trip when:

  • The pickup or drop-off location changes significantly – for example, if a rider edits their original pickup points or destination.
  • There’s an unexpected detour that makes the trip much longer. 
  • The trip takes significantly longer than expected – for example, if there is unexpectedly heavy traffic.
  • The rider adds or removes a stop while on trip.
• What happens if a rider cancels a Reserve trip?

  Both riders and driver-partners agree to a cancellation policy before scheduling a trip. Riders will pay the minimum fare of the trip for UberX, XL and Comfort, and the full fare of the trip for Premier trips, if they cancel within one hour of the pickup time.

• Can I receive a Reserve trip while I’m online driving even if I didn’t take one scheduled in advance (by going to the Opportunities section of the Driver app)?

  Yes – You may also receive on-demand requests for Reserve trips when you are online (as you do UberX) and will see the fare on the offer card, as well as the word ‘Reserve’ to indicate it is a Reservation request.
