Uber has also introduced new Door-to-Door safety standards. Before a driver or delivery partner can go online, they will be asked to confirm, via a new Go Online Checklist, that they’ve taken certain safety measures and are wearing a mask or face cover in regions where they are mandated. To help uphold these safety standards, Uber is encouraging both drivers and riders to hold each other accountable. If either party feels unsafe, they can cancel without penalty and report incidents via the Uber app. Drivers and riders who repeatedly violate mask policies risk losing access to Uber.
Reimagining the daily commute
A recent study1 conducted by Uber found that 69% of surveyed employees believe Uber is as safe or safer than other modes of transport. By providing employees with rides, companies can offer an alternative to buses, trains, or driving to workgiving workers some peace of mind as times remain uncertain. This can also help lessen typical commuting hassles, like wait times, road congestion, or expensive and limited parking.

Companies can encourage social distancing and boost morale with a meal program that allows employees to order food on Uber Eats. Employers can easily set customised parameters around budget, delivery locations, days and times, and expense codes so employees eat well while staying within company policy. Employees can use the web or the app to order food from local restaurants on the platform and request a no-contact delivery option while avoiding unnecessary trips outside of the office.
