According to reports from the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA), “despite concerns about inflation and rising prices, only one in five travel managers says their companies have begun to limit business travel.” With demand still high, travel managers face an increasing challenge to balance cost savings without sacrificing the employee experience. Our goal is to meet our customers at the intersection of cost savings and raising standards.
See how our latest updates can help you manage travel budgets while providing an elevated experience tailored to the business traveler. Here’s what’s new:
Exclusive rides for business travel
We’ve rolled out Uber Business Comfort in select cities. This ride option, exclusive to Uber for Business travelers, is only available when an employee toggles to their Uber for Business profile in the Uber app. Uber Business Comfort was designed to elevate the employee travel experience and improve productivity at every step by offering extra legroom, top-rated drivers,* premium support, and simplified expensing thanks to integrations with providers like SAP Concur and Coupa.
Expanded availability of Uber Reserve
Tap a button, plan your ride. When your employees book flights and hotels for upcoming trips, they can reserve Uber rides at the same time and know that all parts of their journey are set. We’re beginning to roll out a feature that lets you use Uber Reserve to schedule rides up to 90 days in advance, and you’ll see the upfront price and receive details about your driver in advance of the trip. Plus, we’ve expanded availability for Uber Reserve across most of the US and Canada, so you can reserve the ride that best fits your team’s budget and group size.
New wayfinding features in airports
Whether employees travel out of their home airport or a new one, navigating a busy terminal can be overwhelming. That’s why we’re adding step-by-step, in-app directions to guide you from the gate to the Uber pickup area. Our new wayfinding feature offers specific directions at more than 30 airports across the globe and we’ll expand further in the coming months.**
We all know what it’s like when you’re waiting to deplane, wondering when to request an Uber ride and feeling unsure about long it will take to get to the pickup location. Say goodbye to that stress and hello to our new feature that will help you more accurately plan how long it will take to get from gate to baggage claim, soon available in more than 400 airports around the world.
*Uber Business Comfort top-rated drivers are only available in select cities.
**In-app directions to rideshare pickup are currently available in select terminals at the following airports: Atlanta (ATL), Baltimore (BWI), Bangalore (BLR), Boston (BOS), Calgary (YYC), Chicago (MDW, ORD), Dallas (DFW), Delhi (DEL), Fort Lauderdale (FLL), Hyderabad (HYD), London (LHR), Los Angeles (LAX), Madrid (MAD), Melbourne (MEL), Mexico City (MEX), Miami (MIA), Minneapolis (MSP), New Jersey (EWR), New York (JFK, LGA), Orlando (MCO), Paris (CDG, ORY), Rome (FCO), San Francisco (SFO), São Paulo (CGH, GRU), Seattle (SEA), Sydney (SYD), Toronto (YYZ), and Washington, DC (DCA, IAD)
