To heat up the on-going “Rethink Your Ride” campaign since its launch in September, Uber is launching “Uber Taxi OK Wor Rewards” to give out total value of HKD$500,000 Uber Taxi promos from today, encouraging Hong Kongers to reimagine their journeys with the effortless experience of e-hailing an Uber Taxi.

From 1 to 20 December, participants can locate any “Uber Taxi journey line” at 15 outdoor locations around the city and scan it with ‘Uber Taxi HK ’ Instagram or facebook AR filter to complete a mini challenge and earn Uber Taxi offers. First 8,000 participants to complete the challenge would have the opportunity to earn HKD$50 for their next Uber Taxi ride; and the first 100 riders who have applied the code and completed an Uber Taxi ride will be eligible to redeem an extra HKD 1,000 worth of Uber Taxi promo code.

Timing and efficiency are top of mind for HK commuters, but it’s also their top pain points

As part of the campaign, Uber has commissioned research to delve into the pain points and needs of Hong Kongers. 

The survey reveals that “transportation too crowded”, “cannot get a seat”, and “waiting time too long” are the top 3 pain points that daily commuters are facing. While, “arriving on time” and “getting to their destination quickly” are top 2 priorities; followed by a need for feeling safe and comfortable.

“Despite the pain points we have seen HongKongers suffering everyday, 81% of the general population are still stuck in the vicious cycle. Uber can fill the gap and serve as the solution to their pain points. Be it e-hailing a ride during peak hours, or simply to enjoy a comfortable ride home after a hectic day, Uber is here to help.” said Estyn Chung, General Manager of Uber Hong Kong. “With the Uber app, riders can easily book their rides and receive estimated time, route and price information for their trips. Every trip booked through the Uber app is insured, together with our safety features, our 2-way rating system and customer support mechanisms, we strive to go beyond to provide not just an “OK La…” moment, but an “OK Wor!” experience that will delight all our riders.”

Uber’s favorability is strong and riders thinks “It’s a service they can rely on”

The survey also reveals that Uber has become an integral part of Hong Kongers’ lives, with over 81% of the general population expressing a favorable view of Uber. Respondents cited convenience, reliability, and time-saving benefits as the key reasons for their enjoyment of the platform. The results show that respondents enjoy the comfort that Uber has been offering, in contrast to conventional options, they also have good experience with Uber drivers. Respondents also recognise the flexible earning opportunities that drivers enjoy via the e-hail platform.

To reinforce the message of reimagining the ride experience, the  “Rethink Your Ride”  campaign focuses on the effortless experience of e-hailing a taxi with Uber Taxi. Partnering up with the renowned celebrity Ronald Cheng, the campaign presented three relatable and engaging films [Queue | Compete | Lemon]   to guide the audience through the “OK Lah…” situations that turn into extraordinary “OK Wor!” commute experiences with Uber Taxi. The films displayed across screens across the city,  Uber hopes to resonate with Hong Kongers and empower them to become a modern e-hailer with the brand.
