Written byTea named as trendiest food of the year in Hong Kong
2018 is set to be the year of Tea for HongKongers as revealed by Uber Eats’ fearless food forecast.
Surprisingly, the trendiest food items of the year also included food bowls with dumplings not far behind.
To uncover insights around these foodie favorites, Uber Eats looked at the most popular ingredients and dishes among HongKongers over the last six months. The list of foods to watch in 2018 also included tofu and avocado.
Across Asia-Pacific, cities have clear favorites, too. Food bowl is clearly trending among the Japanese, while foodies in Taiwan and Thailand can’t get enough of Ube. Meanwhile in India, all bets are on Samosa, Ghee and Butter Chicken this 2018.
“Food preferences around the world are constantly evolving – by the hour, the day, the season – and here at Uber Eats, we believe it’s critical to offer our customers choices they feel good about.
