Uber and GigRealm, the go-to platform for venues looking to book live entertainment in the hospitality sector, have teamed up to offer free trips for live entertainers from across the country to get home safely after gigs.*

The initiative will enable the thousands of venues, who use the GigRealm platform to offer free trips to entertainers who are performing at their sites. The partnership comes at a hugely important time for entertainers – live performances are central to the continued resurgence of local economies post-covid.

Tom Brady, CEO of GigRealm, said, “We’re delighted to be working with Uber and recognise the challenges entertainers face, particularly when travelling to and from gigs in new locations or late at night. By offering free Uber credits to our acts, we aim to alleviate some of the logistical and financial burdens they encounter, ensuring they can concentrate on what they do best – delivering outstanding live performances. This initiative is particularly crucial for supporting the safety of women and LGBTQIA+ entertainers, who may be more vulnerable late at night, especially in unfamiliar towns and cities. It also aids our venues and operators we work with, in building stronger relationships with their acts by offering free credits that don’t add to their overheads and costs.”

Andrew Brem, Uber’s UK General Manager, said, “Uber is thrilled to partner with GigRealm to help support entertainers get home safely after gigs. Safety is a key focus for us, and with millions of trips taking place every day, we want to help everyone get home as safely as possible.”

Emma McClarkin OBE, CEO of the BBPA & GigRealm Non-Exec Director, adds, “Pubs are increasingly recognising the value of live performances, particularly live music, in attracting customers and creating unique experiences. This initiative will benefit performers and assist pubs in building strong relationships with them, ultimately enhancing the live music ecosystem and benefiting the high street.”

As live performances continue to flourish and allow venues to diversify their offerings, Uber is committed to adding value to protect the high street and looks forward to working with GigRealm to support venues and their entertainers.

About Uber

Uber’s mission is to create opportunity through movement. We started in 2010 to solve a simple problem: how do you get access to a ride at the touch of a button? More than 42 billion trips later, we’re building products to get people closer to where they want to be. By changing how people, food, and things move through cities, Uber is a platform that opens up the world to new possibilities.
