Milan, 28 October 2025: Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026 and Uber today announced a strategic partnership to integrate ride-hailing services into the transport infrastructure, expanding its capacity for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

As the official ride-hailing sponsor of the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, Uber will play an important role in enhancing local mobility around venues and supporting the Games transport network.

By deploying a record 5,000 local drivers, Uber will make on-demand rides easily available through its app, helping visitors travel seamlessly within every single Games area. This service will support over 1.5 million people expected to travel across  the 14 competition venues, ensuring convenient and reliable access to rides.

Connecting the transport network

From Milan’s bustling city centre to the peaks of Cortina d’Ampezzo, the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 will cover one of the most geographically dispersed areas ever seen at an Olympic and Paralympic event.

Designed as a model for sustainable and efficient hosting, the Games will rely on existing and temporary Italian transport infrastructure. Within this framework, Uber will enhance mobility to and from venues using its ride-hailing services.

This will include pick-up and drop-off zones dedicated exclusively to Uber passengers present at every Olympic and Paralympic venue, with airports and transport hubs integrated into Uber’s network. These areas will be supported with turn-by-turn in-app directions, and real-time mapping, and traffic updates to minimise congestion and waiting times.

Leveraging technology for safe, convenient and reliable travel

Uber will use its global mobility platform to enhance Games-time operations through:

  • Routing: dynamic in-app routing to guide drivers through road closures and venue restrictions.
  • Safety Infrastructure: Activation of Uber’s global safety protocol, including 24/7 support and coordination with Milano Cortina 2026 in case of emergencies.
  • Olympic and Paralympic Venues: Step-by-step, photo-guided pick-up and drop-off instructions within the Uber app for every Olympic and Paralympic sites.
