Whether you’re completing a weekly grocery haul or grabbing items to cook a mid-week dinner, we know that grocery shopping is often an incredibly personal experience. From picking the perfectly ripe bananas to making sure you grab the right can of soup in an ingredient list, we know getting what you want, when you want it, is important.

Today we’re excited to introduce a new suite of grocery features designed to help increase order accuracy and reliability for consumers, while making the experience for couriers more effortless than ever before.

Courier Pick and Pack

With Courier Pick and Pack, you can now find even more of the grocery and convenience stores you love available for on-demand delivery on Uber Eats. Once you place an order, it’s matched with an Uber Eats courier who – after accepting – is directed to the store where they can begin finding the items.

The courier’s app will guide them to find the right items, suggest replacements if an item is out-of-stock, communicate with you, and check out using a pre-authorised payment method before delivering the items to your doorstep.

Active Order Adjustments

With Active Order Adjustments, you can now easily edit your orders after they’ve been placed, until the courier checks out at the store. This feature is perfect for times when you forgot to add items or no longer need certain items.

Whether you’re looking to add an additional carton of eggs to make breakfast this weekend, or remove a can of salt because you found some at home, Active Order Adjustments was designed to give you more control over your grocery orders, so you can get exactly what you want with every order.

Aisle Indexing

With the launch of Aisle Indexing, couriers are now shown each item’s exact aisle & shelf location so they can find it quickly and be on their way to deliver the order to you.

Every grocery store is unique, and this feature will now make it easier for couriers to know exactly where they can find items in stores and not waste any time.

Smart Item Verification

With the launch of Smart Item Verification, you can have confidence knowing that the courier fulfilling your order will now see if they’ve selected an incorrect item and be shown what they need to look for in order to get the right item.

With this feature, we’ve helped take the guesswork out of navigating sizes, flavours, colours, and more.

Grocery Tips

Now, when a new courier encounters a particular situation while on a grocery trip, their app will show them information about that exact scenario they encountered. Whether they have difficulty finding a requested item that is out of stock, or are unsure of how to properly scan a barcode,  they will be offered a guide with what to look for and how to ensure you get the right items.

These features are rolling out now to the UK and countries across Europe soon.
