Following the success of Bus in Cairo, Uber announces the expansion of Uber Bus to Egypt’s North Coast, where it will operate during the summer season aiming to provide riders with more transport options to commute across the coast. After a pilot phase that kicked off last month, Uber Bus will be officially available starting July 18th.

“Road safety and convenience are our top priorities this summer, and we’re, therefore, very excited to introduce Uber Bus to the North Coast to provide vacationers with a peace-of-mind experience while on the road. Rider demands have shown the need for safe and affordable transport options in holiday destinations, and accordingly, we have expanded Bus with trips 75% cheaper than UberX in the North Coast,” commented Ahmad Hammouda, Head of Uber Egypt.

The bus service will operate on weekends, as well as on public holidays. The standard weekend operating hours will be: Thursdays from 5 PM to 3:30 AM, Fridays from 1 PM to 4 AM, and Saturdays from 12 PM to 11 PM, with a bus available every 30 minutes.

With the ultimate goal of building a safer community on the coast during the summer season, in partnership with AXA Egypt, Uber will cover all riders and drivers of Bus and UberX against medical expenses, permanent, total, and partial disabilities, accidental death, and lost earning opportunities in the unfortunate case of an accident while on a trip with Uber.

Moreover, Uber has extended its partnership with Nacita AutoCare to provide holiday-goers traveling with their own vehicle with UberRESCUE, the on-demand support and car maintenance service available in the Uber app in  Al Sahel.
