Uber’s technology empowers men and women around the world to become entrepreneurs and small business owners. In the city of Cairo alone, we’ve created thousands of jobs for new entrepreneurs on the Uber platform.

Today, we’re continuing our commitment to support inclusion and entrepreneurship in Egypt by partnering with Riseup Summit to help bring the startup ecosystem and all its stakeholders together for a 2-day jam-packed event!

Riseup is a 2-day event packed with workshops, inspirational stories, highly relevant panel discussions, interviews, pitch events, mentorship, and a Trade Fair for entrepreneurs to show their products and services to potential customers and partners.

UBER SESSION

UBER: GLOBAL PRODUCT, LOCAL THINKING

Localization begins with hiring local people. Uber’s Regional General Manager will be giving an exclusive session about how Uber thinks locally to expand globally. The company invests heavily in technology as a way to maintain its competitive edge, however, Uber also recognises the importance of championing growth through a local team and by local means.

UBER SPONSORED SESSION

DEMAND-DRIVEN THINKING: REMAINING RELEVANT IN 2020

We will be bringing together thought leaders in their respective industries to give a rapid-fire presentation about how they continue to innovate and what to expect in the coming waves.

The world is experiencing a period of extreme urbanization. In the future, cities will account for nearly 90% of global population growth, 80% of wealth creation, and 60% of total energy consumption. Developing better strategies for the creation of new cities, is therefore, a global imperative requiring local action. This session will bring together thought industry leaders who will focus on exploring the availability of new strategies for city-scale interventions in their relevant sectors, and how it is enabled by emerging technologies and entrepreneurs. In short, how can you stay relevant 5 years from now?
