Safety in 2022

January 26 / Germany

In light of the current Covid-19 developments in Germany, we want to update you with information and guidelines to help make your trips booked via the Uber App even more safe. Let’s look out for each other – to protect our community.

New partitions

Partitions made by OLEU Segel in Germany are installed in the vehicles between the front and backseat. We are currently working with our partners on exchanging these partitions to increase safety even further.

No mask. No ride.

Partner drivers and passengers are asked to wear FFP2 or surgical masks – depending on  regional regulations. You can find further information on current regulations on the websites of your local Gesundheitsamt.

The latest technology

Our innovative verification technology helps make sure that all partner drivers wear a mask when starting a trip.

Safety in the Uber App

The options in the Uber app also help to reduce the risk of infection: thanks to contactless ordering via the app and cashless payment. When you arrive at your destination, you can simply leave the vehicle without having to use your mobile phone again.

WHO Safety recommendations

In partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO), Uber has put together safety tips and recommendations so you can help protect our community by following these safety precautions:

  • Please wash your hands before boarding and use disinfectants regularly
  • If you have to cough or sneeze, please use a disposable handkerchief or the crook of your arm
  • Please always sit in the back seat and wear a mask on every journey

We wish you a good and safe journey!
