You heard it- we’ve finally made our way to Cowtown! Starting at 2pm today, Calgarians can enjoy the safety, reliability and convenience of uberX at just the tap of a button. All at 30% cheaper than your traditional taxi ride!

What’s uberX?

uberX is our low-cost ridesharing option that connects you with on-demand transportation in minutes. Calgarians can ride easy knowing that all driver-partners undergo a rigorous background check process and that all Uber rides are supported by safety innovations like the “Share My ETA” feature (learn more about Canada’s commitment to safety here).

 WE’RE CELEBRATING WITH FREE RIDES!

That’s right- we’re so excited to be in Calgary that starting today through until midnight on October 18th, riders new to Uber will receive two free rides up to $20/ride!

How to get riding:

  1. Download the Uber app (iOS, Android or Windows Phone)
  2. Select the uberX icon, set your pickup location, and request your Uber ride!
  3. Meet your driver curbside- you’ll be able to track the exact location of your ride, and you’ll receive all the important details ahead of arrival, like contact info for the driver and the license plate of the car.
  4. Enjoy the ride! No need to worry about fumbling for cash- your ride will be charged directly to your Uber account when your trip is over and you’ll receive an emailed receipt.

PRO TIP: If you can’t connect with your Uber at first, don’t worry! Availability may be limited while we’re offering free rides to new users. Just refresh your Uber app after a few minutes to request a ride – you’ll be on your way in no time.
