More than 3.8 million Aussies use the Uber app regularly to access convenient transport at the touch of a button. We’re so excited to announce that, from today, even more Aussies can benefit from safe, affordable rides as we celebrate our official launch in five regional cities across Queensland: Bundaberg, Gladstone, Hervey Bay, Mackay and Rockhampton.

We know that convenient transport options can be limited, especially during the evenings and on weekends. With residents of regional Queensland front of mind, we’re delighted to announce the roll-out of Uber in four new communities just in time for the busy summer season: perfect for locals who want more choice in how they travel and need a complement to current transport infrastructure. We’re especially excited to provide more transport options ahead of events such as Bundaberg’s Pageant of Lights, Rockhampton’s Carols by Candlelight, and the summer school holidays.

By launching in these areas, we welcome local drivers who are looking for complete flexibility to drive as and when it suits them. We hope that the opportunity to make some extra money will make a positive impact in the lives of locals.

We’re so excited by the positive reception of Uber in larger cities, and now we are looking forward to diversifying the transport options available to people living in regional areas too.
