Having worked at eminent establishments Rockpool and Grossi Florentino, it may come as a surprise that David Lim’s inspiration for Bakmi Lim Noodle Project came from working at Subway.

“I found it amusing that customers were able to customise their roll with different breads, toppings and sauces. It inspired me to do similar, but  with noodle bowls instead.” David said.

Working in a variety of roles across quality restaurants equipped David with enough knowledge and ambition to open his own restaurant in Adelaide.

“My childhood dream was to run my own noodle shop with the Indonesian style noodle ‘Bakmi’ as the main signature dish.”

The Noodle Project took me over a year to set up the location and test the ingredients to ensure I deliver a real authentic Indonesian ‘Bakmi’ taste.” David said.

An effervescent character to chat to, the care and joy that goes into each and every bowl is evident in the way he talks about his passion.

“Delivering a delicious dish is one thing, consistently delivering a delicious dish is another. Consistency is the key.” David said.

It’s an exciting time for Bakmi Lim Noodle Project who have reached new customers thanks to UberEATS.

“UberEATS has been a great platform to promote my business and allow me to serve more customers.”

Known for their spinach infused noodles expect big things from David and Bakmi Lim Noodle Project in 2017.

“We are in the process of making a catering menu to cater for functions and corporate clients. We are also looking to open another shop by middle of next year perhaps somewhere in the CBD area to serve more bowls of handmade noodles.” David said.
