When you’re delivering from a pharmacy, some orders feel just like a grocery or food delivery, while others ask you to scan a barcode or collect a PIN before you can complete the trip.
Every pharmacy order is different. Some medicines can be left safely at the customer’s door. Others are more tightly controlled and need extra checks.
👉 You don’t need to decide this yourself — the app will always guide you step by step.
Deliveries of everyday pharmacy items (like vitamins, sunscreen, or low-strength over-the-counter medicines) can be completed by all Delivery People. Deliveries of higher-tier medicines can only be done after you complete the ‘Medicine Delivery’ education module.
That ’s why sometimes pharmacy deliveries are similar to regular deliveries and other times they require extra steps.
Best Practice for All Pharmacy Deliveries
Whenever you collect an order from a pharmacy, always:
✅ Keep the order in a clean, dry delivery bag.
✅ Store medicines separately from food or drinks.
✅ Handle packages with care — never tamper with or open them.
✅ Prevent cross-contamination (e.g. don’t place near spills or unsealed products).
✅ Avoid leaving items in any place accessible to the public.
✅ Deliver promptly and follow all in-app instructions.
Additional Steps for ‘Medicine Deliveries’
By completing the ‘Medicine Delivery’ education module, you will be eligible for delivery requests containing higher-tier medicines, including pharmacist-only and prescription medicines. These come with extra rules and controls:
- Scan barcodes at pickup to confirm the exact item prepared.
- Collect PIN at drop-off to ensure the right customer receives it.
- No “Leave at Door” — items cannot be left unattended.
- Return packages to the pharmacy if delivery can’t be completed (you’ll be paid for the return).
- Pop-Up – You will see a reminder for medicine orders.
In Summary — Never Skip or Change the Process
Medicines are regulated. Pharmacies trust Uber Eats Delivery People to handle them safely. Following the steps in the app ensures that:
- Orders stay safe and secure
- Customers get the right medicine
