It’s gearing up for that busy time of year again with Splendour in the Grass being held from Friday 19 – Sunday 21 July at North Byron Parklands.
The event organisers have made changes to the pickup and dropoff arrangements this year to improve the traffic flow and the experience getting in and out of the event.
Dedicated pickup and dropoff area
There will be a dedicated pickup and dropoff space for rideshare and taxis, and traffic management staff on site from 7:00am – 3:00am daily to assist.

Directions
Head to Wooyung Rd (instead of Tweed Valley Way) and follow the signage to the rideshare area
- Festival goers have been informed by the event organisers that there are no public pickups and that they can only use buses, rideshare or taxis to and from the event.
- Please display your Uber branded sticker so that festival organisers can identify you.
Collect your rideshare access ticket
- As you turn off Wooyung Rd (down the private drive) you’ll come across the traffic managers. They’ll pass you a ticket to keep in your car for the rest of the event to easily identify rideshare drivers and keep the flow of traffic moving. The traffic managers will also check the festival tickets or wristbands of your passengers, so you can prepare your riders to have them ready upon approach.
Busy periods
We expect it will be busy around Byron leading up to and across this period as riders travel around the festival, Byron, Ballina, and Coolangatta Airports.
For dropoffs, riders who are not staying at the festival will be heading there around 10:00am – 1:00pm.
For pickups, last year it was particularly busy as riders head back to Byron or around Tweed Heads, around 11:00pm – 1:30am.
