Listing alcohol items on your menu without being authorised by Uber Eats, is a breach of your agreement with Uber Eats and may be in breach of applicable laws, regulations and policies related to the sale of these items and can result in store suspension or termination.
If you have alcohol items on your menu, please remove them as soon as possible. Alcohol items must be completely removed from your menu on Uber Eats, and not just marked as “sold out”.
You can delete the alcohol item(s) by reviewing and managing your own menu here. Uber Eats will not remove these items on behalf of the restaurants.
If you are POS integrated and unable to remove the item(s) yourself, please contact your POS provider for help with removing the item(s).
Why can’t I list alcohol items on Uber Eats?
Alcohol delivery via the Uber Eats app is currently only available to Liquor Stores and other select retail partners with the appropriate liquor licence, and in selected cities only.
As a reminder, listing alcohol item(s) on your Uber Eats menu without being authorised by Uber Eats to do so is in breach of your agreement(s) with Uber Eats and the Community Guidelines, and may result in losing your account access, and/or termination of your Uber Eats account and all associated accounts. This applies even if you have a valid liquor licence which may allow you to sell packaged liquor for takeaway.
By listing alcohol items on your menu without being authorised by Uber Eats to do so, you also may be in breach of your liquor licence, and applicable laws, regulations and policies related to the sale of these items.
Only alcohol items which are authorised by Uber Eats are configured to trigger a delivery flow designed specifically for alcohol deliveries which includes unique compliance features such as:
- Allocating a delivery person who has been educated in the required processes for alcohol deliveries, and
- ID verification processes to check that recipients are 18 years or over and not intoxicated on all deliveries.
Delivery of alcohol to a minor or an intoxicated person is a breach of law. So verifying a customer is 18 or over and not intoxicated must occur, but cannot be guaranteed if you list unauthorised alcohol items.
Managing your menu on Uber Eats
For your menu to remain compliant in the future, please ensure that you do not upload any unauthorised or inappropriate items on your menu. This includes:
- Alcohol (0.5% ABV or higher e.g., beer, wine or spirits) and/or pharmaceutical items (unless otherwise approved by Uber Eats)
- People
- Animals of any size
- Illegal items
- Fragile items
- Dangerous items (such as weapons, explosives or flammables)
- Stolen goods, or any Items that you do not have permission to sell or send
