If you’re using the Uber app, you’re probably looking for the easy option. We get it. You want a quick and convenient ride with everything taken care of, so you can just sit back and relax. We’re constantly updating our features to make sure your ride goes as smoothly as possible—and we’ve put them all in one app to make it even easier.
Share your trip
When you get the Uber app, you can make sure your friends and family always know where you are with the Share Your Trip function. You can use it to help keep track of everyone’s schedules and arrival times when you’re meeting up as a group or send it for added security and peace of mind. Simply install the Uber app and when your ride request is first accepted, swipe up and you’ll see a Send Status option. Tapping on this creates a notification with your driver’s name, vehicle name and location, which you can then send to up to five contacts. Throughout your trip, you’ll find a link at the bottom of the app to Send Status to as many people as you like.
There’s nothing more awkward than chasing your work colleagues for their share of the ride back to the office after a team lunch. Do away with uncomfortable texts and IOUs and use the Split Fare feature. You can divide the fare amount with up to three people directly in the app (although they’ll all need their own Uber accounts) simply by swiping up, tapping your selected payment method and then choosing Split Fare. You can enter the names of those you’re splitting with and they’ll receive a notification to accept before the ride is up.
It’s hard enough to organize everyone’s schedules and get a group social arranged without having to worry about how everyone is getting there and back. The Multiple Destinations feature allows you to add up to two extra stops along your route, so you can pick friends up and then drop them home again without any hassle. All you have to do is tap the + symbol next to your destination to make an extra box appear, and you can then enter your chosen destinations. You can also add, change or remove your stops once you’re on the move using the app.
Yes, it’s a good idea to set your alarm extra early so you have time to request Uber in the morning—in theory. But in practice, it’s also a good idea to get that extra ten minutes of sleep. Scheduling a ride means that you don’t have to stress out about organizing your ride first thing because you can book it up to 30 days ahead of time. Simply go to the app and look for the icon of a car and a clock. Click on it to set your preferred pick-up time and location, as well as your destination and the type of ride you want. You can still edit or cancel it any time before your ride.
Sound good? Get started by downloading the Uber app and signing up. We’ll just need a few essential bits of information, such as your name, contact number, email address and chosen password, and you’re ready to ride (and to make the most of all our features)!
