Montreal – It’s Time for Action
For over a year, you, like tens of thousands of Montrealers, count on Uber for a reliable, safe and economical ride in your city. You’ve made a habit of using this transportation alternative that responds to your everyday needs. Now, imagine if this was taken away from you. That you lost your ability to benefit from this quick and friendly services where you know your driver’s identity and can get an efficient and timely response to your customer feedback. Imagine also, that the driver partners whose service you appreciate, suddenly lost the economic earning opportunity that the Uber platform provides them.
Despite the benefits the Uber platform brings to the residents of Montreal, Mayor Coderre’s administration has made every effort to put the brakes on innovation and pressure Uber to cease operating in this great city. We believe it would be far more beneficial for the City to supportively regulate ridesharing rather than try to reject it. If cities like Chicago, San Francisco and Washington have done this, why can’t Montreal?
Tell your elected officials and Mayor Coderre’s administration that you support modernizing regulations to allow for safe and reliable transportation alternatives like Uber. Let them know you are in favour of creating regulations that work for today’s needs and serve the interests of citizens rather than protect the status quo for the taxi monopoly.
Stand up for progress and safe roads; stand up for Uber in Montreal. Sign the petition today and share why #MTLNeedsUber @Uber_QC with your mayor @DenisCoderre and your elected officials!
Uber on,
Team Uber Montreal
