Background screenings

At Uber, we see safety as one of the pillars of our services. To help assure that safety is maintained at all times, we have introduced various actions that provide safety to both our drivers and riders.

All rideshare drivers in Canada are required to pass an annual background screening, which includes a review of your driving record and criminal history, though some provinces and cities require additional screening documents. See below for the detailed breakdown.
