This holiday season, we’re teaming up with Mashroo3 Kheir to make donating easier.
It can be tough finding time to make it to your local donation center during the holidays, so we’re bringing Mashroo3 Kheir to you. If you’re in Cairo on Saturday, December 19th, you can request a free, on-demand donation pickup of the clothes you no longer need. The clothes will go to impoverished areas around Cairo, in addition to Syrian and African Refugees.
Since Mashroo3 Kheir will be coming to you, use this as an opportunity to donate more than just a few things. Go through your closets and find everything you and your family no longer wear, then add it to the bag — or bags!
HOW IT WORKS
- Bag up your gently worn jackets, shirts, pants, blouses and any other items of clothing you’re willing to donate.
- Open the Uber app between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. this Saturday and slide over to the “UberKheir” icon and request your pick-up.
- An Uber will arrive to pick up your gently used clothing and drop off your donation to Mashroo3 Kheir free of charge.
THE DETAILS
- All clothing must be bagged for drivers to accept your donation.
- Drivers-partners will arrive at your requested pick-up location. Please keep in mind drivers can’t leave vehicles unattended, so we ask that you bring your bagged clothing out to meet your driver -partner when they arrive.
- It’s the giving season and we expect there to be high demand, so please be patient.
Mashroo3 kheir was founded on the core belief that the youth can have a profound effect on society because of their high sense of civic responsibility. Their aim is to offer them this chance, by creating long term developmental projects, and short term programs that can help the youth respond to the urgent needs of our community. This partnership with Uber is direct outcome of one of these initiatives.
