Starting October 1, 2022, locals in Pflugerville, Texas, will have a new way to get around. Pfetch a Ride, is a discounted on-demand rideshare program that expands transit service citywide, offers wheelchair accessibility, and spurs economic growth by providing local workers with a reliable, affordable transportation option to help get to and from work.
“The City of Pflugerville is excited to be one of the first cities in the state to provide this type of discounted rideshare opportunity for our community…With convenience and flexibility, the Pfetch a Ride program provides discounted rides to and from anywhere in the City limits using the popular rideshare system Uber to enhance mobility and transit convenience.”–Victor Gonzales, Mayor of the City of Pflugerville
How it works
- Each month, locals will receive an Uber voucher with a maximum redemption value of $10 per ride redeemable on up to 10 one-way trips within the city limits, and to and from Tech Ridge Park & Ride and the Austin Executive Airport.
- Riders will pay the first $4 of each Uber trip, after which the City will provide a $10 subsidy per trip. Riders will be responsible for any cost over $14 per trip.
- The Uber voucher may be redeemed on trips 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- Access to on-demand paratransit service will be provided through MT Connect, a service of Maruti Transportation Group, a local paratransit operator. Riders in need of wheelchair-accessible vehicles can call 1-210-227-1900 to book a ride through Maruti’s call center.
The pilot is aligned with the City’s Aspire Pflugerville 2040 Comprehensive Plan to expand fiscally responsible transit and related infrastructure by adopting transit solutions that are responsive to the needs of the community.
Pfetch a Ride is locally funded by the City of Pflugerville and managed by TRIPPP Consulting.
