Beginning from March 2nd 2021, we’re starting to roll out our multiple pickup feature to include orders from multiple merchants. Once this feature is launched, you may receive delivery requests from multiple merchants along a similar route.
How does the feature work?
A multiple merchant trip will be similar to delivering multiple orders from a single-merchant. In the app, you will see an upfront estimated earnings amount for completing the multiple merchant trip, and, as always, you’ll be able to choose whether to accept or decline that trip. Multiple order trips can be identified by the (2) shown at the bottom of the trip request screen, signifying that there are 2 orders to pick up. For a single order, the (2) will not be shown. The estimated earnings amount surfaced for a multiple order trip is the estimated amount for the completion of both orders.

You may also receive a request for a multiple order trip after you have accepted a single trip request. In this case, you will see an offer for an addition to the upfront estimated earnings amount if you wish to pick up another order from a second merchant and complete that order. As always, the choice is yours so you do not need to accept additional trip requests, and your ability to cancel a trip remains the same.

What happens if I cancel the second order after collecting the first order?
If you cancel the second order after picking up the first order, there will be no consequence. Instead, you will only be paid for successful completion of the first order. This means only the estimate earnings surfaced in the original trip request will be honoured.
How fares are calculated
How do fares work for multiple merchant trips?
Before you accept a multiple merchant trip, you will be shown the estimated earnings you will receive upfront for completing the trip(s). The earnings surfaced is for both orders.
Multiple merchant trip fares
The base amount is calculated on estimated delivery time, distance, and whether the trip has multiple pickup and/or drop- off points. In certain circumstances, a trip supplement may apply to a trip in addition to the base amount, when there may be:
- Higher than usual estimated traffic conditions
- Higher than usual estimated wait times at the pickup location
- Areas with limited availability of delivery partners and higher than usual demand for delivery
On top of this fare, you may also receive additional amounts due to Promotions (Boost or Surge), Tips and Tolls.
Frequently asked questions
- What if one of the customers cancels?
There's a possibility that an order you accept gets canceled by the merchant or the customer. If an order gets canceled after you pick it up from a merchant, you will receive the full upfront fare.
- What if I can’t find the first customer and this causes a delay for the second order?
Down Small If you’re unable to find the customer when delivering, you can try calling them. If they don’t answer, you can tap the banner that appears to indicate that they didn’t answer. This will send them a notification.
If they don’t contact you quickly, you can follow the prompts to end the delivery. You’ll get paid for your second order when you complete the delivery.
- Can I opt out of receiving multiple delivery requests on one trip completely?
Down Small No, the app currently doesn’t have the functionality to opt you out of receiving multiple delivery requests on one trip. However, you can decline to accept or cancel any delivery request, including another delivery request on the same trip.
