You’ve given us your feedback on our cleaning fee policy and we’ve since made some changes. Starting 5 March 2018, we’re giving you two options when a rider makes a mess in your car. You can either request for the:
- Self-cleaning token worth RM20 (no receipt needed), OR
- Reimbursement for cleaning fee (based on the receipt from the workshop)
Option 1: Self-cleaning token
We understand that some messes require instant cleaning. The self-cleaning token allows you to clean the mess in your car without having to go to the workshop to get a receipt. It entirely eliminates the need for receipts.
How it works
- Submit a clear picture of before and after, depicting the mess in your car and the aftermath of your self-cleaning effort
- Photo evidence of the mess must be submitted within 3 business days of occurence
- You will receive a RM20 cash token which will be paid through the normal weekly driver payments
Option 2: Reimbursement for cleaning fee
If a rider leaves a mess or damage in your vehicle that requires significant cleaning or repair by a professional cleaning service, let us know as soon as possible and we’ll do our best to support you. In some cases we may be able to provide a reimbursement for the cost of cleaning and repair. The cost of the reimbursement will be based on the receipt you provide.

To qualify for reimbursement, please provide a clear picture of the mess within 3 business day of occurrence. Submit a clear picture of the entire receipt (top to bottom) with these details:
- Name of the cleaning workshop/petrol station
- Address of the location of the cleaning workshop/petrol station
- Reachable contact number of cleaning workshop/petrol station
- Vehicle registration number of driver-partner
- Date of when the cleaning fee is done
- Itemised billing based on the cleaning process done
- Company stamp with representative signature of the cleaning workshop/petrol station
How can I request for a self-cleaning token or reimbursement for a cleaning fee?
Please do so via the Uber Partner app by following the steps below:

While we endeavour to honour all requests, Uber will make this determination in its sole discretion following a review of the incident. Instances of misuse and violation of policy could prevent driver-partners from receiving any reimbursement.
