Whether you’re heading to the beach, your favourite restaurant or the airport, getting around Byron Bay, Ballina and Lismore just got a whole lot easier.

From 12pm on Thursday 27 October you can download the Uber app to request a safe, reliable, affordable and accessible ride whenever and wherever you are! And if you want to share rides to earn some extra cash you can sign up to drive today here.

Evolving the way Byron Bay, Ballina and Lismore move

In a regional hub where many areas are underserved by public transport, and many more are only accessible by car or taxi, getting around the local area hasn’t been easy. In fact, for most residents and visitors, getting a bus isn’t an option, and getting a taxi is simply unreliable.

So whether it’s getting to work or the beach, most residents and visitors in the area have come to rely on their car to get from A to B.

Today that all changes.

Now anyone, anywhere can push a button and get a ride in minutes, and as we have seen in 450 cities around the world, this will transform the way the Byron Bay area moves.

The introduction of Uber into a regional hub like the Byron Bay area will have positive effects on many issues the city has been grappling with for years, such as drink-driving, access to work for those that need it and reliable access to transport.

We believe that ridesharing will be a positive for residents, visitors and the local economy, contributing to making the Byron Bay area a more livable, economically vibrant and better connected place.
