If you’ve ever needed a ride, you’ll understand that sometimes you need to bring along the whole ohana. Until now, uberTAXI in Honolulu has only offered you a max of 4 passengers. That’s all about to change.
uberTAXI Van Has Room For The Whole Ohana!
Starting today, you can request an uberTAXI Van with room for up to 6 passengers. Just toggle over to TAXI Van and request! This assures you ’ll get a ride for a party of 6, with one of the top taxi drivers in Honolulu. Best of all, there is no additional charge for an uberTAXI Van! With this new option in your app, you’ll be sure to get everyone where they need to go, seamlessly.

uberTAXI Van Pro Tip:
Fare Splitting = Fair Splitting
It’s been said that 4 out of 3 people can’t do fractions. At Uber, we love math (we have a whole team dedicated to it!) but we understand that not everyone does. So we’re going to do the long division for you.
SPLIT YOUR FARE WITH FRIENDS USING THE LATEST UBER APP!
To split a fare, you…
- Request a ride
- Tap the “up arrow” icon next to your driver’s info
- Select “Split Fare”
- Choose your friends
- Tap “Send”
Your friend(s)…
- Tap the link in the text message from Uber
- Your friends who don’t have an Uber account will be prompted to download the app and sign up
- Your Uber-savvy friends will be taken directly to the Uber app
- Your friends will confirm they want to split your fare
Then let Uber take care of the rest! If you have any questions about this new feature, shoot me an email – supporthonolulu@uber.com or tweet me @Uber_Hawaii!
