Solutions for the road ahead

Uber Autonomous Solutions provides partners with the tools, data, and infrastructure to efficiently bring autonomous platforms to market. From mapping and regulatory access to real-time support and fleet operations, we’re helping our autonomous partners commercialise their technology at scale.

Advancing infrastructure

Autonomous Vehicles can’t get on the road without the right infrastructure. Uber provides the digital and physical foundation—combining data, mapping, regulatory access, and financing—to help partners roll out Level 4 autonomy smoothly and at scale.

AV 2.0 Training Data

Uber’s data-collection fleets and dashcam networks capture over 100,000 hours and millions of kilometres of footage across the US and Europe—helping AV partners train and scale towards Level 4 autonomy.

Data Enriched Mapping

Drawing on billions of trips around the world, Uber’s mapping data helps AV partners fine-tune pickups, routes, and ETAs with real-world accuracy.

With millions of trips completed at airports, stadiums, and event venues, Uber has developed refined data sets that can be used to train AVs on the complexity of these high-traffic environments.

Magical user experience

Rolling out AVs on a large scale will need the sort of end-to-end user experience Uber’s already created. With our unmatched global reach and operational know-how, we’re helping partners lift their operations to deliver the autonomous products customers want.

In-Vehicle Experience

Building on our top-notch product design, Uber is creating in-car AV-first software and hardware experiences that give riders control with easy access to sound, temperature, and rider support.

Shared & Reserve Rides

Getting autonomy ready for real-world demand will need a range of different products. Drawing on our experience with UberX Share and Uber Reserve, we’re supporting autonomous partners as they tackle the challenges of rolling out new ride options.

End-to-End Support

Uber’s support network is built into every stage of the journey. From before your trip to after, riders can get real-time help at the tap of a button—powered by the same infrastructure that supports millions of trips around the world.

Optimising fleet operations

For autonomous commercialisation to succeed, AV fleets need to operate at peak efficiency 24/7/365. With depot tools, AV-specific insurance, and real-time insights, Uber keeps fleet operators informed and in control, so their operations face fewer interruptions.

Remote Support

In a perfect world, AVs would never need help. In the real world, Uber offers real-time, on-road support when AVs run into issues—monitoring situations and providing live communication to make sure responses are timely and appropriate.
