New uberX Prices and Guaranteed Earnings
WE BELIEVE IN THIS AND WILL GUARANTEE IT!
While word spreads that uberX is even more affordable than before, from 6am on the 19th of February until 6am on the 18th of March (local time), we’re guaranteeing gross hourly earnings during the busiest hours each week in core operating areas, as set out below. We’ve got your back.
Chart indicates gross hourly earnings (i.e. prior to the payment of Uber’s service fee). To qualify, driver-partners must maintain a 90% acceptance rate, 4.6 star rating and complete an average of 1 trip per hour while online.
How does it Work?
Uber will guarantee a minimum of $/hour in gross fares averaged over each incentive block. The $/hr guarantee varies across the week, so please see the chart above to see which rate applies. As long as you meet the conditions below, you will earn at least the specified $/hour in gross fares.
To qualify for the incentive you must:
- Accept at least 90% of all trip requests
- Complete at least 1 trip per hour (If your are positioned in the core service zone you will easily reach this target – see t.uber.com/perareas for busiest locations)
- Maintain an average rating above 4.6 for the entire week.
Incentive Example 1:
Uber Partner A is online online 6am to 8:30am (2.5 hours) during the hours listed above, and makes $40 in fares. They also meet the conditions above. Uber’s guarantee: 2.5 x $25/hour = $62.50 in gross fares. Incentive payout: ($62.50 – $40) x 80% = $18
Incentive Example 2:
Uber Partner B is online from 10am to 1pm on saturday (3 hours), and makes $120 in fares. They also meet the conditions above. Uber’s guarantee: 4 x $25/hour = $100 in gross fares. Since they earned MORE than the Uber guarantee there is no additional incentive. This is a good thing. Well done!

Please note that, with the exception of star rating, your payout will be based on your performance in each incentive period rather than on your performance over the entire week . This means you could qualify to be paid out for one incentive period (e.g., Monday 6am to 9am), but not for another incentive period (e.g., Friday 3am to 9am) in the same week. You will receive individual line-items in your next payment statement explaining why you did or did not receive payment for that period.
