To help you get the most out of every trip, here our some top tips to ride like a PRO.
Share your trip with friends and family
Use ‘Share my ETA’ to easily share your trip details – including specific route and estimated time of arrival – with up to five pre-selected friends or family with two taps of a button, even if they don’t have the Uber app. Find out more here.
Get the price before you ride
The Uber app has a handy tool you can use to get an estimated fare before you ride. This is particularly helpful if dynamic pricing is in effect, and you want to be really clear how much your ride is going to cost before deciding whether to request a driver or wait for prices to go back down.
Split the cost with a mate(s)
Save 50% or more on your Uber ride by splitting the fare with one or more of your mates. When you’ve booked a ride, simply hit the ‘split fare’ button and you can choose to split the fare with up to four people.
Find your lost items quickly
If think you think you’ve lost something on your trip, you can use the Uber app to connect with your driver quickly and easily. We also have a 24/7 rider and driver support team, who are always here to help.
Ride for free
Sign up your mates to Uber, and you’ll get $10 off your next ride when they take their first trip. The best part…they get $10 off their first trip too.
Avoid surge pricing
When surge pricing is in effect (you’ll see a lightening bolt in the corner of the app) you can use a feature that will send you a push notification when fares go back to the normal rates. This is really handy if you’re not in a rush and can wait a few minutes for a ride.
Keep an eye on your rating
After each trip, riders and drivers are given the opportunity to rate one another based on their trip experience. The rating system works to make sure the best drivers and most courteous riders are using Uber. Check your rating in the Uber app to keep an eye on your average.
Grab a fresh coffee on your way
Mobile coffee ordering app Hey You, has integrated its app with Uber, so you can place your coffee order and request an Uber to pick it without ever leaving the app.
