The Brisbane Operations team have been working hard to improve your driving experience. In particular, we’ve been focusing on stopping requests coming from the other side of the river and also improving the way Surge works.
You will now notice much smaller surge regions in surge. This will really help you spot the hot spots around the city.
However, there are still some technical details we need to improve. At the moment, when you cross the river, you should go Offline and then back Online to refresh the Surge map on your phone.
Currently, you may only be able to see Surge on the side of the river where you went Online.
The Brisbane river makes our city more complicated than other cities around the world. We will keep working towards a better solution.
If you Go Online on the North side of the river, you will see the Northern Surge regions.

If you Go Online on the South Side of the river, you will see the Southern Surge regions.

At anytime, you can use the Uber Rider App to see what surge is anywhere in Brisbane. Just move the pin around the map to check for surge.
