Riverfire, Incentive Changes & Events
Riverfire!!
Riverfire is on Saturday the 27th of September! Brisbane’s biggest event of the year!
This night will be INCREDIBLY busy and has the potential to be very lucrative for drivers. We are expecting to see a HUGE amount of demand which means you can expect:
– Higher surge levels and for greater periods
– Driver earnings to be much higher than a regular weekend
– A large number of trips per hour
Surge & Incentives
From midnight tonight, the completed trip incentive will change from $5 a trip to $3 for all non-surged trips. This change is being made as partners continue to earn more and more each week across all hours. The Saturday evening $30 minimum hourly earnings will remain in place (6pm – 2am).
We expect partners to earn more than ever over the coming weeks:
– The next two weeks are going to be the biggest ever on Uber with the Brisbane Festival on and Uber sponsoring many events
– We are seeing a greater number of drivers earning $35+ per hour in peak hours
– As we head into summer, riders will ride more each week, creating crazy demand for rides!
– We are continuing to invest heavily in growing your business by sponsoring community events, providing new riders with free rides and assisting local organisations to run events.
From today, we have also increased the maximum surge rate to 3x. This can have a great impact on driver earnings in peak times and also ride availability for riders.
As always, let us know if you have any queries and thank you for your support.

Ask the rider their name
In cities like San Francisco & Sydney, Uber is everywhere. In these cities, it is imperative to confirm the rider’s name before they enter the car. As we are now completing thousands of trips in a night in Brisbane, it is important that drivers ask riders their name.
As an example, simply ask: “Hi, could I please have your name to confirm your booking?” – it is fast and it helps ensure:
– you are collecting the correct rider
– you receive that 5 star rating for your great service
– you get paid the fare you actually drive
