Perth UberXL NYE 2016 Hourly Guarantees

uberXL provides great opportunities for drivers to improve their earnings and NYE 2016 is no exception. In light of strong demand for this service we are offering gross hourly guarantees throughout the night totalling a whopping $580!

We’ll be sending all of our uberXL drivers an in-app message to opt into this promotion so if you’re interested please keep an eye out on any new messages appearing in your app.

Only eligible uberXL drivers will have this card visible. If you’re interested in adding your existing or new car to uberXL please let us know here.

How do incentives work?

The process

  • You can opt in through the button in the promotion card visible in your app within the next few days.
    • Only drivers with an XL eligible vehicle will see the optin link.
    • You have until the Friday December 30, 2016 to opt into this incentive.
  • If you are online during the advertised periods and meet the requirements below, you are guaranteed the indicated minimum gross fares per hour.

Incentives for NYE

Starting Saturday December 31 6:00pm to Sunday January 1 3:00am the gross guaranteed fares are the following:

6:00pm – 10:00pm : $70 gross fares per hour

00:00am – 03:00am : $100 gross fares per hour

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for guaranteed gross fare periods you have to:

  • Opt into the promotion;
  • Accept 80% of trip requests you receive;
  • Start at least 50% of your trips (1 out of 2) in the NYE Promotion Area (see highlighted area in map below);
  • Complete an average of at least 1.8 trips per hour across each incentive period;
  • Only trips done in an XL eligible vehicle count towards this incentive.

Eligibility is calculated per guarantee block. If for example an guarantee block runs from 6pm to 10pm the above requirements are expected to be met over those 4 hours to be considered eligible for the incentive.

Example

Here’s an example of how guaranteed gross fares work.

  • You are driving Friday from 10AM to 6PM ($25/hour in gross fares between 10am and 4pm and $40/hour in gross fares between 4pm and 6pm)

If you drive for 8 hours during this incentive period, we guarantee a total of $280 in gross fares ( (8*$25)+(2*$40) ). Let’s break it down, assuming your actual earnings are $250 in gross fares, and there is a 28% service fee:

Your guaranteed incentive payout for this period is $28.80, which is added to your pay statement as a Miscellaneous Payment. On your statement the incentive payment will include a description of the requirements, your eligibility, and the total amounts guaranteed and paid!

Payments will always be made the week following the incentive period, and will be included on your regular weekly pay statement.

If you make more than the guaranteed amount, you keep 72% of whatever you make!

A few things to note

  • The guarantee is for gross fares (before Uber’s service fee).
  • The difference between your actual fares and any guaranteed fares will be reflected in the Miscellaneous Payments section of your weekly payment statement (you won’t see it on your phone during the week).
  • Trips done using the driver destination functionality do not count towards your incentives.
  • Only trips taken in your XL eligible vehicle count towards this incentive.

FAQ

Question: Can I drive outside of the guarantee periods?

Answer: Yes! You can drive anytime you want. Outside the guarantee periods offered to you, you will receive 72% of all gross fares you earn.

Question: What if I make more than the incentive offered?

Answer: That’s fine! If you make more than the guaranteed amount you keep 72% of whatever you make!

Question: How can I add my XL eligible car to uberXL?

Answer: Head on over to help.uber.com and search for UberXL. There you request to have your newly added vehicle added to uberXL.
