What to Expect on a Long Weekend

Labour Day Weekend will be a little bit different to normal, here’s how:

  • Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights will all be busy with rider requests with riders going out to enjoy the evening
  • Expect to see requests all across Sunday and Sunday Night
  • And requests across the whole of the weekend as this is the last weekend of the mid-semester Uni break and school holidays

It’s My First Weekend What Do I Do?

1. Prepare early – Top up your water, petrol, mints, lollies, and other rider favourites. Clean your car before the weekend begins as we are expecting back-to-back-to-back trips.

2. Refresh yourself – Use any slow period to refresh yourself, top up your petrol, and get prepared for the next flurry of activity.

3. Use your discretion – Be safe and take a break when you need it.

4. HAVE FUN! Uber riders love their drivers because you are amazing and engaging people. Everyone will be enjoying the festivities and you should too!

5. Take Advantage of the Incentives – Use the hourly minimum periods to ensure your earnings and maximise

This is the heat map of last weekend. As you can see general suburb requests bringing people into the GC Metro Area and major requests heading out of the metro area later in the evening.

Remember, Uber is 100% Cashless

Paying a Rider Cash

If a rider is unhappy with any aspect of using Uber, whether the price or otherwise, they should get in contact with Uber, via:

Support.GC@uber.com

Riders can do this via the rider app. Simply direct riders to do this if they have any issues.

They can do this through the Uber App by tapping the Uber ‘U’ in the top left corner of the screen and selecting support.

Compensating a rider for a surge fare in cash is inappropriate as this will be taken care of by the Rider Team. We don’t want you to be out of pocket!

Asking a Rider for Cash

As a Driver you should never ask for cash from a rider.

Payments will automatically be deducted from their account at the end of the trip. Do not ask for cash in these situations:

– the rider damages / dirties your car

– the rider accidentally cancels the trip

– the rider asks you to through a toll

Simply hit “Fare Review” at the end of the trip and we will help you out.
