Item Tampering Complaint
What Does An Item Tampering Complaint Mean?
A consumer let us know that they felt part of their order was opened, damaged or items went missing en-route to them. This may involve opening the bag, damaging the packaging of items and in extreme cases, eating part of an order. We understand that tears or damage to packaging can happen during delivery but a consumer may not always realise this.
Consumers choose UberEATS because it has some of our city’s best restaurants and food items. An important part of this experience is ensuring items are kept safe and transported correctly. Items should never be opened or tampered with when travelling to their destination.
How Can I Ensure This Doesn’t Happen Again?
Keep in mind when delivering, that items should always remain sealed in their packaging. If you need to check all items are in the packaging, this should be done at the restaurant’s premises, without any damage done to the packaging. Our best delivery partners avoid opening items en-route to a delivery destination and if they notice that a bag is torn or damaged after leaving the restaurant, they let the consumer know of the damage to the bag and confirm everything is satisfactory.
What’s Next?
By sharing this quality feedback, we hope that we’ve helped you to understand the expectations our restaurant partners and consumers have for our delivery partners.
If you continue to receive negative feedback from consumers or restaurant partners, your account will be reviewed and you may lose access to the platform.
Note: We expect some negative feedback over time for all our partners as this is the nature of the business! If you believe you received this complaint unfairly, please don’t worry, we’ll only take action if we see a pattern of undesirable behaviour. The primary purpose of this message is to share constructive feedback with you to help you improve.
