Brisbane’s Biggest Weekend
RIVERFIRE WEEKEND
Friday – Events include the Justin Timberlake concert, two student society gala balls a charity poker tournament and a new venue launch.
Saturday – One word: Wow! AFL Grand Final, leading into RIVERFIRE, and another sold out Justin Timberlake concert. Key Times Below:
1PM – 4PM – AFL Grand Final & pre-Riverfire celebrations
4PM – 7PM – Riders travelling to Riverfire viewing locations
7:30PM – 10PM – Riders leaving Riverfire locations
11PM – 5AM – Riders heading out for the evening / home
On Saturday we expect to see a huge amount of drivers earning $35 – $40+ per hour.
How? Several trips per hour and a record amount of price surge!
How Do I Make The Most Of This Weekend?
1. Prepare early – Top up your water, mints, lollies and petrol. Clean your car before the weekend begins as we are expecting back-to-back-to-back trips.
2. Refresh Yourself – Use any slow period (if there is one) to refresh yourself, top up your petrol, and get prepared for the next flurry of activity.
3. HAVE FUN! Everyone will be enjoying the fireworks and festivities around Riverfire and you should too!

Riverfire road closures
There will be a number of road closures in place on Saturday night for riverfire. This will inevitably require some re-routing on the night. NOTE: The App will NOT take into consideration the road closures. Below is a map of the major road closures on the night:
During 5:30pm & 8pm, it may be difficult to make a river crossing. Please take this into consideration when accepting cross-river jobs.

Pro tip: What do I do if there are more riders than seatbelts?
When a rider books an Uber, they know it is for no more than 4 passengers. Occasionally drivers mention that they have requests from riders to take 5 passengers. Drivers are consistently doing the right thing and not allowing the fifth rider to travel in the car.
The best approach is to let the group of riders know how many seats and seatbelts you have available upon arrival and assessment. If there are too many riders have someone in the group request another Uber. This will send a request to the nearest Uber driver to come and pick up the remaining members of the party.
