Commentary: When Australian Govt Legalizes Uber, Taxis “Will Have Nowhere To Hide.”
For The Conversation Jeannie Marie Paterson of University of Melbourne asserts that the Taxi Industry Forum of WA, which “conceded the sector could have done better,” will “have nowhere to hide” when the ACT government finally allows Uber to operate legally.
Western Australians Turning To Gig Economy For Extra Cash.
WA Today reports that Western Australians are increasingly “turning to other sources beyond the nine-to-five grind” for income, including Uber.
Uber chalks up 2.5 million rides in Brisbane in just 18 months.
The Sydney Morning Herald reports that Uber is celebrating 10 million rides throughout the nation, with the Brisbane and Gold Coast making up about one-fifth of its UberX market.
