How monday.com enables a flexible, people-first workplace with Uber for Business

Find out how monday.com teams up with Uber for Business to boost employee wellbeing and simplify admin, supporting its hybrid team across Asia-Pacific and Japan (APJ).

Overview

Work management platform monday.com is built on the core values of collaboration, ownership and transparency. This philosophy extends to its internal culture, which prioritises employee wellbeing and flexibility. During a period of team growth across the APJ region, monday.com needed a scalable way to maintain its cultural foundation through the delivery of meaningful benefits, like supporting a hybrid work model.

monday.com turned to Uber for Business to provide a unified solution for employee meals and team travel, both key elements of its commitment to a people-first culture.

When we first looked into Uber for Business, our goal was to find a solution that supported our flexible working culture. We wanted to remove any barriers and offer a solution that employees genuinely love, boosting satisfaction and their overall experience."

The challenge: supporting a flexible culture at scale

With employees in Sydney, Melbourne, and Tokyo, monday.com’s Workplace Experience team was looking to offer benefits that were inclusive and easy to use, no matter where people were located. The team wanted to address several key people objectives through these benefits:

  • Create a positive employee experience: monday.com wanted to offer benefits that employees would love to use, increasing satisfaction and supporting them whether they were in the office, at home, or travelling for work.

  • Reduce admin hassle: The team wanted to get rid of the time-consuming process of manual expense claims for meals and travel, which can turn perks into hassles.

  • Offer genuine flexibility: Previous solutions were often tied to specific vendors or office locations which didn’t align with monday.com’s hybrid working model.

The solution: a unified platform for Uber Eats and rides

Uber for Business offered a single, intuitive platform to manage a monthly meal credit for all employees and a central account for business-related travel. Key benefits of the partnership include:

  • Meal perks for different needs: Employees can use their meal credits for lunch at the office, dinner when working late and even for grocery deliveries, all while using an app they already know for easy onboarding.

  • Tracked and controlled costs: The Uber for Business dashboard provides real-time visibility into all trips and orders, consolidating invoicing and giving the Workplace Experience team access to usage and spend data.

  • Enhanced employee wellbeing: monday.com’s people now have access to perks they love, without having to worry about painful manual expense processes. This keeps the team focused on what matters, whether they’re collaborating on a project or travelling to meet clients.

  • Providing more sustainable options: A key added value of the Uber for Business platform is it allows the Workplace Experience team to encourage and track the use of Electric or Comfort Electric vehicles aligning the Uber for Business program with monday.com’s sustainability goals.

Being able to quickly order groceries or a meal means I can jump straight into later calls or finish up work without stressing about food, knowing that dinner is sorted. It lets me stay focused and professional, while also protecting my personal time. It’s a benefit that really makes me feel supported."

The results: a benefit that speaks for itself
Since the partnership’s launch in 2021, Uber for Business has become a cornerstone of monday.com’s employee benefits package. The platform has successfully scaled to support over 200 users across Australia & Japan, with overwhelmingly positive staff feedback.

Uber for Business has been an absolute game changer for us. Being able to grab an Uber Green for a meeting without having to worry about tracking expenses saves the team heaps of time; it lets us stay focused on our customers instead of admin.
