Vehicle Maintenance Requirements

What is a vehicle maintenance record?

A vehicle maintenance record provides evidence that your vehicle has been recently serviced or maintained by a registered mechanic.

To be accepted, your document must clearly show the maintenance or servicing completed on your vehicle.

What documents can I upload?

You can upload one of the following from a service or maintenance check completed by a registered mechanic within the last 12 months:

  • Vehicle service logbook
  • Mechanic invoice or receipt

If you don't have an eligible maintenance record from the last 12 months, you may need to arrange for your vehicle to be serviced or inspected by a registered mechanic before submitting your records.

Alternatively, you may download the Vehicle Maintenance Form below and ask your mechanic to complete it to confirm your vehicle's maintenance.

What must my document show?

Regardless of which document you provide, it must clearly include:

  1. Statement confirming the maintenance work was completed in line with manufacturer’s recommendations
  2. Service or maintenance date - within the last 12 months
  3. Vehicle details - vehicle registration or make and model
  4. Odometer reading
  5. Registered mechanic or workshop details - including a stamp or signature
  6. Details of the servicing or maintenance work completed

Your document may be rejected if any of the required information above is missing or cannot be clearly verified.

What won't be accepted?

The following will not be accepted:

  • Evidence of repairs only
  • Evidence of tyre replacement only
  • Documents with a service or maintenance date older than 12 months
  • Documents without an odometer reading
  • Documents without registered mechanic or workshop details
  • Documents that don't clearly show the servicing or maintenance work completed

What does an acceptable logbook entry look like?
