How do I create a Business Profile?

Already an Uber user?
To set up your Business Profile:

• Open the Uber app and tap the top left corner and navigate to Settings.
• Scroll down to Profiles and click Business Profile.
• You will be prompted to add you work email, corporate credit card and to select your preference for weekly or monthly billing summaries.
• You can also link your account to Concur, Expensify, Chrome River, or Certify expense management programs, according to your businesses’ preferred software.
• That’s it! Your Uber Business Profile is set-up.

Business Profile FAQs

• How do Business Profiles work when I take an Uber trip?

  It’s as simple as selecting whether a ride is personal or for business purposes. The next time you request an Uber for a work trip simply tap on your personal profile and switch to your business profile. Your trip will be charged to your company card and your trip receipt will be sent to your work email.

• What if I accidentally take a trip on the wrong profile?

  No problem, just click on the ‘Help’ section in the app. Select the relevant trip, and then ‘Receipts and payment’. Click ‘I used the wrong profile’ and let us know which profile you would like the trip charged to. The Uber support team will correct the charge ASAP.

• What expense code options are there? What if they don’t fit into our company policy?

  The expense code template is blank to allow employees to follow their company’s regular expense code policy. 

• I want everyone in my company to know they can expense Uber trips with Business Profiles, do you have any info I can send them?

  We recommend sending the below email and to include the travel policy you want your team to follow:

  Hi Team,

  We’ve just updated our travel policy to include ridesharing. This means the company will pay for Uber rides taken for work purposes.  

  Do not create a new account unless you have never used Uber before.

  If you have an Uber account, sign in using your personal account details, go to the Settings section and add a Business Profile.

   If you haven’t used Uber before, download the app and create a personal account. You will then need to create a Business Profile in the Settings section.

• What insurance do Uber driver partners have?

  We want to ensure that passengers, as well as members of the community, are well protected. That’s why uberX driver partners’ cars also have at least third party property damage insurance. Uber also ensures that each uberX trip in Australia is also protected by at least AUD$20,000,000 contingent cover for bodily injury and property damage to third parties. That cover is provided by Australian insurance company CGU. It’s also worth mentioning that, in cities where we operate UberBLACK, UberLUX and uberTAXI, those rides are provided by commercially licensed and insured driver-partners, and as such, are covered by commercial insurance policies. In other words, every passenger trip that takes place on the Uber platform is covered by insurance.

• What background checks do Uber driver-partners have?

  Uber’s rideshare driver-partners in Australia must be at least 21 years of age and additionally must have an Australian Driver’s Licence for at least 12 months. They must drive a registered four-door passenger vehicle, which is no older than ten years old. Ridesharing driver-partners must also undergo additional screening, either by obtaining a Background History Check and Driving History Check, or by applying for an authority or accreditation card with their local/State authority.
