Background Checks for Uber Driver-Partners

All driver-partners taking trips in NSW must pass a background check through National Crime Check (NCC). Checks from other providers can't be accepted.

To get started, tap the button below to submit your check with NCC. When applying, use the same email linked to your Uber driver account — using a different email might stop us from matching your result automatically, which could delay your onboarding.

  • Most checks are completed in about 2 days, though some can take up to 14 business days.
  • Once your check is complete, your result is uploaded to your Uber account automatically – you don’t need to send it to us. Please allow up to 24 hours after completion for it to appear on your account.

  • A couple of other things to keep in mind:
    • There's a processing fee payable to NCC, which Uber can't reimburse.
    • Under NSW regulations, you might not be eligible to drive with Uber if your Background Check includes a disqualifying offence. Please check the NSW P2P webpage for more details.
    • If you change how you earn with Uber (for example, from Delivery to Rideshare, or the other way around), you'll need to provide a new background check — a previous one can't be transferred.

For status updates, get in touch with NCC directly at 1800 080 095 or support@nationalcrimecheck.com.au
