When you’re ready to get in, you can unlock the WeRide or Baidu vehicle by selecting Unlock car in your Uber app.

Autonomous vehicles on Uber can accommodate 3-5 passengers and offer ample trunk storage.
How to be matched with a WeRide or Baidu vehicle on Uber in Dubai:
1. Make sure you're using the most up-to-date version of [the Uber app](https://www.uber.com/download/) available in the App Store or Google Play
2. Open the app and enter your destination
3. If you’re requesting a ride from an eligible location to an eligible destination during AV operating hours, select the "Autonomous" ride option from the different ride types¹
You can also turn on autonomous vehicles in your Ride Preferences in the Uber app to boost your chances of matching with an AV the next time you request UberX or Uber Comfort. To do this:
1.Open the app and select "Account" in the bottom right corner
2. Choose "Settings"
3. Scroll down to Ride Preferences and select "Autonomous vehicles"
4. Toggle to "On" to try to get more autonomous trips

Frequently asked questions
How do pickup and dropoff work with a WeRide or Baidu trip in Dubai?
When the WeRide or Baidu vehicle has arrived at your pickup location, check that the vehicle details (license plate, car make/model) match what’s in the Uber app. When you’re ready to get in, you can unlock the vehicle by selecting Unlock car in the Uber app. Upon reaching your destination, make sure you have all your belongings, and exit as you would with any other rideshare vehicle.
Can I bring other passengers on my Uber trip in an autonomous vehicle?
Yes. Just like typical Uber rides, passengers are welcome to join you on your Uber trip in a Baidu or WeRide vehicle. Currently, WeRide and Baidu vehicles can seat from 3 to 5 passengers.
Are pets permitted in WeRide and Baidu vehicles?
As a courtesy to other riders who may have allergies, we do not currently allow pets in Wayve vehicles. If you would like to bring a pet along, you can request an Uber Pet trip in your Uber app. Service animals, however, are always welcome on any trip in accordance with our Service Animal and Assistive Device Policy.
How long will the AV wait for me?
Uber customers have 5 minutes to board their autonomous vehicle.
Can I request a particular brand of AV for my trip?
No, currently you cannot request a specific brand of autonomous vehicle for your trip. Baidu and WeRide vehicles are assigned to trips based on trip eligibility and vehicle availability.
How do I know which autonomous vehicle I'll get?
If you are matched with an autonomous vehicle, the autonomous partner available for your trip will be displayed on the Uber app once the ride request is confirmed. The Uber app will display specific details about the vehicle including its make, model, and license plate number.
Is there a price difference between autonomous rides with WeRide and Baidu on Uber?
No, the autonomous partner you are matched with for a trip does not have an impact on the trip fare.
Can I communicate with a person if I need help during the ride?
If you ever need help during a ride, you can contact support through the Uber app or the in car tablet. Plus, Uber’s safety features—accessible by selecting the blue safety shield in the app—are always available to help ensure a smooth experience.
