Who can apply for the Taichung City Maternity Taxi Program?
Pregnant women who meet either of the following criteria are eligible to apply:
- Expectant mothers who are registered residents of Taichung City.
- Non-national expectant mothers whose spouse is a registered resident of Taichung City.

How to apply for the Taichung City Maternity Taxi Program ?
Pregnant women who are registered residents of Taichung City (or non-national expectant mothers whose spouse is a registered resident of Taichung City) can apply online via the following steps:
- Step 1: Download the TCPASS app.
- Step 2: Register as a "全功能會員" within the app.
- Step 3: Go to the homepage, tap on "好孕乘車" and complete the online application form.
💡 Reminder: You will be notified of the review results via SMS and email within 14 business days after submission. Alternatively, you can check your status by tapping "好孕乘車" in the app.
How to redeem Uber Vouchers?
Step 1: Please ensure that you have installed and registered for the following two apps on your mobile device

Step 2: Redeeming Uber Vouchers
Please first ensure that your maternity ride subsidy application has been approved, then proceed with the following steps:
- Open the TCPASS app and tap on the Maternity Rides (好孕乘車) section.
- Select “Redeem voucher before booking rides” (叫車前，先領券)
- Tap on “Redeem” (兌換), then tap on “Go to Uber app”.
Step 3：Verify the voucher in Uber App
- Select “Accept Voucher” in the Uber app (Each Uber voucher will be valid for 2 hours)
💡 Reminder: To review the voucher information and its details, tap on "Account", select "Wallet", then select “Vouchers”.
Step 4: How to apply Uber vouchers in the Uber app?
- Open the Uber app and enter your destination.
- When choosing your ride option please ensure the payment method has the voucher applied.
💡 Reminder 1: Once successfully applied, the fare will show the remaining balance after the Uber voucher discount.
💡 Reminder 2: If not used within 2 hours, the voucher will automatically expire. In this case, please return to the TCPASS app to redeem a new voucher.
💡 Reminder 3: If you have multiple Vouchers in your Uber app account, please ensure the payment method is correctly set to “【臺中市好孕乘車補助】乘車券” before requesting your trip.

- Q1: What is Taichung’s maternity ride subsidy program?
To ensure the safety of expectant mothers during their travels and to alleviate the financial burden of transportation, the Taichung City Government launched the Maternity Ride Subsidy on July 1, 2025. Each pregnancy is eligible for one application, providing a total of 30 subsidized rides from the start of pregnancy until six months after the estimated due date. With a maximum subsidy of NT$200 per trip, eligible users can receive up to NT$6,000 in total ride subsidy based on actual usage.
- Q2: How long will the application process take? How can I check my application status?
Once your application is submitted, you will receive a notification of the review results via SMS and email within 14 working days. Alternatively, you can check your status in the TCPASS app by selecting the "Maternity Rides" (好孕乘車) section.
- Q3: Can I still use the subsidy if I move my household registration out of Taichung City?
No. If the expectant mother or the spouse of a non-national expectant mother moves out of Taichung City, eligibility will be revoked. Any unused subsidy credits will become invalid starting from the following month.
- Q4: How do I receive the Uber Voucher if I haven't registered an Uber app account yet?
Step 1: Download the Uber App and complete the registration: Android Download Link / Apple Download Link Step 2: Once registered, return to the redemption screen in the TCPASS app and tap "Go to Uber App" again. Step 3: After being redirected to the Uber App, select "Accept Voucher" in the pop-up screen to complete redemption. 💡 Reminder： Please note that vouchers expire 2 hours after redemption. If your Uber app account registration takes longer than this, simply re-initiate the voucher redemption process in the TCPASS app and claim a new Uber Voucher.
- Q5: Can a single Uber Voucher be used for multiple trips?
No, each Uber Voucher is valid for one trip only, with a maximum discount of NT$200. If the trip fare is less than NT$200, the remaining balance cannot be refunded or carried over to the next trip. If the fare exceeds NT$200, the difference will be charged to the payment method linked to your Uber App account.
- Q6: How do I use Uber Vouchers to request a ride in the Uber App? Does it support cash payments?
Uber Vouchers do not support cash payments. Please ensure you have added a credit card, debit card, or LINE Pay to the "Wallet" section of your Uber App account. When requesting a ride please ensure the payment method has the Voucher “【臺中市好孕乘車補助】乘車券” applied.
- Q7: Where can I use the Uber Voucher redeemed under the Taichung City Maternity Taxi program?
The Uber Voucher redeemed under the Taichung City Maternity Taxi program is valid for trips where both the pickup and drop-off locations are within the Uber system’s operating areas of Taichung City, Miaoli County, Changhua County, or Nantou County. If either the pickup or drop-off location falls outside these regions, the system will not be able to apply the voucher discount.
- Q8: Why was my credit card charged even though I used a Uber Voucher?
This is a "Temporary Authorization Hold." When you request a trip, the system may place a pending hold for the estimated fare on your payment method to ensure it is valid.
Please be assured that this is not an actual charge. Once the trip ends and the Uber Voucher is applied successfully, Uber will release the hold, but depending on your bank’s processing time, it usually takes 3-5 business days for it to reflect in your account.
- Q9: Why don’t I see the Uber Voucher being applied when I’m requesting an “Uber Taxi” trip in the Uber App?
Don’t worry, this is due to the way Uber Taxi fares are calculated. An Uber Taxi’s trip fare is determined by the final amount shown on the meter, while the fare shown in the app at the time of your request is an “estimated fare”. As a result, the system is unable to apply the Uber Voucher upfront.
As long as you have a valid Uber Voucher in your Uber App account, it will be automatically applied once the trip ends. You can verify the final fare details on your receipt after the trip is completed.
- Q10: What should I do if the Uber Voucher is not working?
Please ensure your payment method is set to "Credit or Debit Card." Given that Uber Vouchers do not support cash payments, please ensure you have added a credit or debit card to your Uber App account before requesting a trip and confirm that the Uber Voucher has not expired. If you still encounter issues, please contact the Uber for Business support team at business-support@uber.com for assistance.
- Q11: How do I qualify for the early-bird offer for the first 200 users (Uber and Uber Eats promo codes) ?
Eligible pregnant individuals under the Taichung City Maternity Taxi Program who are among the first 200 users to complete 1 eligible trip using an Uber Voucher will receive 20 ride promotion codes, each valued at NT$50 (valid for 6 months), and 1 Uber Eats Grocery & Retail (優市) promotion code for NT$120 off a minimum single order of NT$999. The promo codes will be provided once the first 200 eligible trips are completed and will be automatically added to your Uber App account. The Taichung City Government is the sole issuer of Uber Vouchers. These Uber Voucher Terms & Conditions are published on behalf of the Taichung City Government.
Redemption Terms
- The system will redeem one (1) Uber voucher of equivalent value for every 200 subsidy credits. Only one (1) NT$200 Uber Voucher may be redeemed at a time.
- Please initiate Uber Voucher redemption via the TCPASS App. After being redirected to the Uber App, select “Accept Voucher” to successfully complete the redemption.
- Each Uber Voucher must be used in the Uber App within two (2) hours of redemption, and will not be transferable to other Uber accounts, users or products. If not used by expiry, the voucher will automatically expire and the credits will be reverted to your maternity ride subsidy balance.
General Terms
- Uber Vouchers can only be used in the Uber App and when both the pick-up and drop-off locations are within Uber Taiwan’s service areas.
- This Uber Voucher is exclusively available to eligible beneficiaries under the Taichung City Maternity Taxi Program and is non-transferable.
- Each trip is eligible for a maximum discount of NT$200. This offer is valid only for trips within Taichung City, Changhua County, Miaoli County and Nantou County.
- Users will not receive any value or credit for any unused portions of Uber Voucher.
- Uber Vouchers do not support cash payments.
- Uber Vouchers are valid only for UberX, Comfort, Comfort Electric, Uber Black, Uber Assist, Car Seat, Uber Pet, Green, UberXL, UberXXL, and Uber Taxi. Uber Vouchers are not valid for Uber Courier, Uber Eats, Taoyuan Airport pickup services, or Uber for Business trips.
- Uber Vouchers have no cash value and may not be redeemed for goods or services outside of the Uber App, cash or converted into subsidy credits. The Taichung City Government is the sole issuer of such vouchers.
