Since we’ve launched Uber in Istanbul last June, our top priority has been to provide Istanbullers a safe, reliable and best-in-class transportation option. With the tap of a single button, you can now request an uberBLACK for a luxury hire car or an uberXL if you need a bigger space. But we know sometimes you just want to get from point A to B with a lower cost option.

At Uber we’re obsessed with efficiency and quality. With over 18,000 taxis already available in Istanbul, the city suffers from oversupply or shortage of taxis in certain regions at certain times. We want to make sure to offer Istanbul the efficient, sustainable and reliable transportation option it deserves.

Today, on top of our two existing options of uberBLACK and XL, we’re opening up the Uber platform to taxis in Istanbul, bringing a safe, low-cost and seamless option for riders.

We believe it’s always good to have options. Via the app you can easily drag the vehicle view to BLACK, XL or TAXI and request the best ride that fits your needs.

Cheaper Last 2 weeks we announced the cheapest ride in town as we did a 50% off promotional period for uberXL. This week we’re launching uberTAXI with 20% less fare than hailing a regular taxi on the street until March 19th 2015! It doesn’t stop there, during this period we take 0% commission from all rides to support the taxi driver community.

Safer At Uber we give utmost importance to safety measures and all drivers on the system have their background checked. Riders get to see the driver’s name, photo and license plate on the app and call them in case they need to. The two-way rating system allows us to offer an off-the-charts experience to both our rider and driver community.

Better  The uberTAXI experience starts from within the app. Uber’s unmatched user experience allows you to easily position the location where you want to request a taxi with a single tap. You can pay seamlessly with your saved payment information and split the fare with another rider.
