Get to work with Wusool

Focused on transporting working women in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Wusool enables women to work in the private sector and helps them to overcome transportation difficulties to and from the workplace

How the program works

Under the program, women book rides to or from work via the Uber application, which covers most cities in Saudi Arabia's thirteen regions. To qualify, Saudi women must be between the ages of 18 to 65, be registered with the General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI), earn less than SAR 8,000 (USD 2,131) a month, including basic salary and housing allowance, and their commute to work must be less than 65 kilometers one way.

Wusool users could originally draw on a maximum work-travel subsidy of SAR 800 (USD 213) a month.

10 years ahead of the Vision '30 target of 30% female labor force participation

"We should not underestimate the contribution that women make to our labor market and the wider economy. This is something that we continue to promote, accelerate and increase. The Wusool program was created from the desire to fully meet the needs of working women, which include high quality, flexible, affordable transportation. It remains vitally important that we introduce initiatives and programs that enable working women to achieve their ambitions and aspirations." DR.
