Helping to build the future of Uber Eats

Whether you’re delivering a midweek ramen or solving a late night grocery emergency, you’re helping connect the community with what they need. And you know the day-to-day of delivering with Uber Eats better than anyone.

Which is why this year, together with RPS Group, we launched the first Uber Eats Advisory Forums in New Zealand, bringing together passionate delivery people to help shape the future of Uber Eats.

In 2023, there were two forums, in which the delivery people advisors had an opportunity to give feedback, share their ideas for solutions and advocate for the interests of their fellow delivery people. Advisors help shape the topics discussed, to make sure we’re focusing on the things that matter most to you.

Meet your Advisors for 2023-2024

2023 Uber Eats Advisory Forum 1

In partnership with RPS Group, Uber Eats held the first bi-annual delivery person Advisory Forum with 14 delivery person Advisors from across New Zealand in February. For this forum, the topics discussed were Earnings and Earner Model Preferences.

For most Advisors, their key takeaways from the session were that Uber Eats is continuing to make improvements, is interested in feedback from delivery people and that delivery people are valued.

During the day-long session, Advisors provided context and real-life examples on:

  • The cost of delivering and the impacts of longer deliveries and wait times on their bottom line
  • Inconsistencies in merchant behaviour and operations impacting the pickup experience
  • Quest promotion achievability and consistency week to week and between delivery people

2023 Uber Eats Advisory Forum 2

In September this year, we held our second advisory forum in Auckland with delivery people advisors from across New Zealand to discuss ‘Uber Eats Pro, Partnership & Recognition’ and ‘New Trip Types’.

During the day-long discussion, Advisors provided in-depth insights on:

  • The value of the current Pro partnerships, and how Uber might expand the program to offer more discounts in areas like vehicle maintenance and to more delivery people especially those on bicycle/e-bikes and motorbike/scooters
  • How Uber might better recognise delivery people at key trip milestones
  • The opportunities and concerns that new trip types created

The session emphasized the importance of open communication and feedback to address these concerns.

“I do appreciate this forum for a number of reasons, firstly because it finally gets that feeling that Uber Eats is not just an app with a bunch of people sitting in let’s say a corporate office.

It gives that human interaction with delivery people and the organisation, corporate, managers so that gap is getting filled now and that’s great.“
