Schiphol is just an Uber away!

Going to Schiphol airport? We’re there. When ride this route with Uber quite often, you’ll probably know about the fixes fares we had between the Amsterdam Districts (Centre, East, South and West) and the airport. Had indeed, because this is going to change. Since we want to make every ride cheaper on average for everyone, we let go of the fixed fares as of today.
But why? The fixed fares were only valid on direct routes between Amsterdam and Schiphol. We noticed than in many occasions extra stops needed to be made, e.g. to pick up the rest of the travel-crew from different locations around town. The fixed fare didn’t apply anymore and average fares went up, which led to confusion. In order to balance out fares for everyone we’ve decided to handle regular uberX fares from now on.
Want to get more insights into what your trip is going to cost? The best you can do is to get a fare estimate from within the Uber app.
How? This is how:
- Open your Uber app and fill in your pick up location as specific as possible
- Fill in your final destination
- Click ‘Choose pickup location’
- The next screen opens. On the bottom left you see ‘Fare Estimate’
- Click on it and it will show the fare estimate on your route on that specific moment in time
